About

Welcome to My Florida Menu!

I’m Nicole, the writer (and Floridian) behind the blog. I’m so glad you’re here!

I grew up in the Sunshine State. I spent days at the theme parks, trekked to the beach on weekends, and took vacations in the Florida Keys.

Then, I left. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Central Florida, my career took me to Athens, Georgia, and Nashville, Tennessee. I loved exploring the South, but it wasn’t long before I felt that tug to come back home.

So in 2022, I packed up my Nashville apartment and returned to Florida for good. When I unpacked the truck in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by family and friends, I knew I’d never leave.

That feeling is why I started this blog. Spending some time away from Florida showed me what makes it truly unique. From the cuisine to the laidback lifestyle, Florida is a place like no other.

My Florida Menu is designed to celebrate every wacky, weird, and wonderful thing the state has to offer.

I’ll share my cooking adventures (and misadventures) as I experiment with coastal flavors and seasonal ingredients.

I’ll take you alongside me as I explore some of the best local spots in Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beach.

And when it’s time to hit the road to explore the other incredible destinations the state has to offer, from the Florida Keys to the Panhandle, you’ll be the first to know the ins and outs of each adventure.

I’ve been chasing sunshine and stories my entire life. I’m so excited to share both with you at My Florida Menu!
